Sinéad FitzGibbon
My name may give you a hint at my heritage! In 1996, after winning a green card in the lottery I emigrated from Ireland to the United States bringing with me my Masters of Science in Physiotherapy from the University of Ulster.
I began my professional practice here in NY working in Manhattan Monday to Friday, and chartering my live-aboard sailboat in Sag Harbor on the weekends. Falling in love with the area I moved from Manhattan to Sag Harbor and began working at Southampton Hospital where I directed the outpatient facility in Southampton Village.
I then accepted a job at Manual & Sports PT in Sag harbor where I soon became a co-owner. With my background in PT combined with a personal history of various competitive racing (ie: triathlons, mountain biking, distance running, rowing) and the associated injuries, I was able to guide athletes through their rehab and return them to their particular sport.
My constant interest in learning lead me to Rocky Mountain University UTAH where I obtained a PhD in Orthopedics and Sports PT. Combining sports performance with rehabilitation is a natural pairing for me. You can’t talk the talk unless you walk the walk!
Along with my colleagues at Latitude PT, I work hard at being a role model for our patients. I work hard and I play hard, which can often result in an injury (PTs are humans too!). Our intimate knowledge of what to do after an injury or surgery sets us apart so you’re in good hands at Latitude Physical Therapy because one of us have most likely experienced the injury you are suffering from!
